With a valid driving license from outside the EU/EEA, a new resident can usually drive in the Netherlands for 185 days. If the driving license cannot be exchanged, both the CBR theory and practical exams are required.

That is exactly why it is advisable to start preparing well before these 185 days expire. This allows the employee to become familiar with Dutch traffic during this period, complete the theory exam and prepare specifically for he practical exam.
